Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and may shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the subsequent requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a house having a combined gross home earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined family earnings doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and need not post any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the proper Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored within their South African ID.

NSFAS click here only funds people who are researching or intend to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All nsfas status students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in nsfas 2025 the processing of their application.
